Culvert Water Level Monitoring Scheme

 

  • Need

           Most of the culverts in the city are located in low-lying places, and the sudden heavy rain often floods the culverts with water. When the culvert is flooded, passing vehicles can easily drive into the water and cause an accident.

  • Function realization

           This system uses a combination of pressure type water level gauge, TOF sensor, and self-made immersion sensor to accurately detect the depth of the water level.

          The TOF sensor and the pressure water level gauge are installed at both ends of the water pipe. The TOF sensor is placed at the top and the pressure water level gauge is placed at the bottom. The TOF and the pressure sensor transmit the data to the cloud platform through the DTU through RS485. Both TOF sensors and pressure water level gauges are used to accurately monitor water level depth.

          The self-made flood sensor is hung on the wall of the culvert, and one is installed every 10CM. Transmit data to DTU via RS485.

           Using a combination of three sensors can reduce false positives to 0 and accurately detect the depth of the water level.

三.Three. Hard hair cycle

            Most of the functions of these three sensors have been completed, but it needs to be modified for the culvert environment before they can be used with confidence. Therefore, the estimated development cycle is about one month.
